There are many marginalized groups in the United States that are suffering from their voices not being heard and their pain not being recognized. Some might consider these “political matters” when in fact, they are human matters. Matters of decency. Matters of compassion. Matters of the heart.

This USA Forever Stamp Collection offers an opportunity to have every voice heard in a loud and impactful, yet silent manner.

Gun Control

The five guns that bleed from the stripes of the flag represent our country’s irrational belief on citizens owning assault rifles. America has become the leader in gun violence and mass shootings. Death isn’t a trait our country should be representing.

Close The Wage Gap

Each stripe in this flag represents the amount of money women make compared to white men. For every dollar a white males make, asian, white, black and hispanic women only make a fraction of that. It’s time all the stripes are the same length. Women deserve equal pay for equal work. The wage gap has been open too long.

Education Reform

The steady release and separation of the adult hand from the child’s hand represents the timeline of our educaiton system. Children are brought into the system with the promise that they will be guided and aided throughout the learning process, but those without sufficient income, stability, supplies or support fall between the cracks and no one is there to help them back up.

Black Lives Matter

The 3 black lines in this stamp mirror the logo of the Black Lives Matter movement. These three lines represent the beginning of a revolutionary movement. The stark contrast between the white and the black as well as the removal of the other red stripes emphasizes the current need to focus specifically on the black community. We are not free, until we are all free.

Immigration Reform

The stripes are formed into barbed wire to emphasize the barbaric way our country has been treating immigrants. America is a melting pot. It was built by immigrants. The flag used to mean “opportunity for all”, but overtime the rhetoric has changed to be “opportunity for some.” It’s time we bring back the real American Dream..

LGBTQ Pride

Our flag is meant to represent freedom and equality for all. Not just for the chosen few. Yet, just recently has the LGBTQIA community began to see strides in their fight for equality. It’s time the flag represents all of the members of the nation and celebrates the freedom, individuality, and equality of a community that it has ignored for so long.
